These stoneware beakers have been designed to fit perfectly in your hand being wider at the bottom before leveling off staight at the lip. They can be used for tea and coffee. The Japanese concept of handless cups embodies the wisdom that if a cup is too hot to hold, it is too hot to drink, encouraging you to wait for the perfect, enjoyable temperature. Each piece is individually handmade and fired to 1290°C, resulting in a durable ceramic one-off that’ll become a home favourite.
The Glaze
The vase features an overlapping glazing technique in a creamy neutral palette. Using our unique, in-house developed recipe, we incorporate Rutile to create a surface of deep interest and variegated texture. This chemical reaction produces a beautiful mottled effect reminiscent of "sand and seafoam."
Design & Finish
Contrasting Textures: While the top flows with reactive glaze, the bottom portion of the pot is left bare to showcase the natural beauty of the stoneware clay.
Fully Functional: The interior is fully glazed, making each piece functional and watertight. These are dishwasher safe although it will expose your piece to potential damage. Handwashing is best, but not essential.
One-of-a-Kind: Due to the handmade nature and the movement of the glaze in the kiln, every piece features unique patterning.
